One word: Taxes
I’m the accountant in the family. Don’t know why it was handed off to me, but I think it has something to do with me being the only one who knows where we have bank accounts.
As of this moment, our returns are about 95% done (and have stayed that way for six days … tick tock, girl!). All that is left is a triple check of our charitable contributions. Remember that major KonMarie last April? All of those belongings were donated. I’m now very grateful to have the info detailed in this blog post because I’m deducting that donation!
My Holly Golightly Moment
Do you have one of those sleep masks that often arrive in gift packages (usually with foot cream and sleeping socks)? A few nights ago I decided to try one that had been in the drawer forever because I’ve been waking up in the middle of the night. It’s not hormonal, and it’s not stress (that I’m aware of).
Oh my gosh … Perfect sleep that night and every night since! Not one wake up in the night! Now that I think about it, we have a clock radio, LED lights on outlets, night light by the stairs in the hall, and plantation shutters on the windows (with a street light right outside). Maybe all of that light was getting to me?
So now we have G sleeping in ear plugs (he claims I snore!) and me in a mask. How sexy and attractive! I’m going to delude myself into thinking that I look as glamourous as Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. At least I have the cat to go along with the mask 😉 .
Can’t beat ’em
Until we had the current kitten girl, we always had house plants, but she mows down anything in her sight. Last year I made small terrariums and she managed to know just the exact moment when the lid was open and would take that opportunity to eat every soft, succulent leaf.
Today I decided to turn the terrariums over to the cats. Cat Nip in one, Cat Grass in the other. In a few weeks it will be buffet time! Do any of you cat owners grow Cat Nip? Does the fresh have more potency than the dried?
I’ve lost all but 2 ounces of what I gained on the cruise, and started training for the Peachtree Road Race this week. Can it be that 4 of July is only 12 weeks away?
