Spent last weekend at Lake Louise for a sewing retreat. No, not the world famous Lake Louise, the shining jewel of the Canadian Rockies, but instead a pretty and petite Lake Louise just outside of Toccoa, Georgia. It was pretty darned picturesque. Morning fog and smoke from the forest fires made for a pretty sunrise

I stayed at the Georgia Baptist Conference Center, which is a bit like a camp. Canoes, swimming, zip lining all at the lake.
A few coloured leaves, but Georgia is desperately dry. The combination of a very warm summer, late fall and dry weather tempered the normally brilliant fall colour.
By 5 pm the skies had cleared and smoke dissipated with a cold front. It was a glorious day.
